TCHIMOU Okochi Landry Fabrice

IUGB CLASS OF 2018

My name is TCHIMOU, O. Landry Fabrice. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a concentration in Petroleum Technology from the International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB) in July 2018. While studying at IUGB, I learnt the importance of structural mechanics and gained a firm understanding of engineering principles. I was already familiar with CNC programming (G and M codes) and CNC machines (lathe and mill). Furthermore, I was proficient in many industry standard programs such as AutoCAD, Mathcad, MATHLAB, etc. My capstone involved designing and building a UAV drone equipped with a camera that could be used for surveying, mapping, and inspection of assets in the oil and gas industry.

Thanks to my engineering coursework, work experience, and a number of extracurricular activities, I developed effective communication, teamwork, leadership, public-speaking, creativity, and problem solving skills which I think will be useful as  and valuable asset to any company in the field of engineering/technology.

All this wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for IUGB for which I express all my gratitude and specifically to the faculty and staff of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for their invaluable assistance, especially Dr. Seydou SINDÉ for pushing me beyond my limits. I am particularly grateful towards the Dean of STEM, Dr. Marcel SILUÉ, for his precious support and guidance throughout my academic career.
