We are delighted to introduce you to one of the newest members of our IUGB Foundation Family of supporters, Felicia Hazzard. Felicia is a monthly donor and we are so grateful.

Felicia is a long-time education champion, domestically and internationally.  Locally, she is involved with Atlanta Public Schools as a member of Continental Colony Elementary School’s GO Team, which approves the school’s budget recommendations and strategic plan.

Felicia and fellow members of the United Nations Association Chicago Chapter Cohort

Internationally, Felicia became a member of The United Nations Association-Chicago Chapter/U.S. Department of State in 2019.  The organization’s  “Engage a U.S. Embassy Professional Fellowship Program” is providing Felicia with insights on foreign policy formulation and implementation.  The Chicago Chapter is working with a Kenyan mission, which intrigued Felicia.  She will meet the First Lady of Kenya during a planned 2020 trip and many other prominent and interesting key players in the country’s educational sector.

Felicia initially contacted us through our website and began a conversation with IUGB Foundation’s Business Manager, Glen Ross, who assisted her with the online donation process.  Felicia noted “…the energy of what the organization and the University were doing in Côte d’Ivoire” was obvious in the donor and student testimonials.  After she attended our November 2019 event “Year of the Return to Africa: Business and Tourism” she began her monthly support of IUGB Foundation’s Scholarship Program.

Felicia says, “…that’s my idea, try to connect the world; it’s better when we learn from each other.”  She wants to learn more about IUGB and Côte d’Ivoire.  Felicia is an inspiration to us  at the IUGB Foundation and to the Atlanta community.
